Open Water Swimming Courses - A unique human and sporting adventure

For over 6 years, the Freestyle swimming courses bring together enthusiasts, adventurers and athletes in exceptional natural settings. Born of the desire to create a space for exchange and progress for all water lovers, these courses have become a benchmark in France and Europe.

The story began with Jacques Tuset, a specialist in swimming escapes, who took part in the very first course and helped lay the foundations for this collective adventure. Since then, many iconic swimmers and adventurers have done us the honor of joining the experiment:

  • Rémi Camus, explorer and adventurer, known for his swimming tour of France and his autonomous crossing of the Mediterranean between Calvi and Monaco.
  • Loïc Metais and his team, who take on ambitious new challenges every year.
  • And many other enthusiasts, including more than 7 have crossed the English Channel, solo or in relays.

These inspiring presences echo the richness of the participants, who come from all horizons: experienced swimmers, triathletes, adventure enthusiasts and simple lovers of the open sea. They all share the same spirit: to progress, to surpass themselves, to live powerful human experiences.

In six years, the Stages Nage Libre have seen the birth of wonderful friendships, collective projects and real human adventures. Today, they represent a a laboratory for sporting and human experiences, where everyone can find their place and nurture their passion for open-water swimming.

How can I join?

Luring your first course, you'll pick up your membership and license (if you don't already have one). We'll then give you your CLUB code.

What's in it for me?

Es a member of the Nage Libre France association, you're insured during your course, and if you don't have a license, you can take one out for just 15€ (FFN price). You can then practice with the federal insurance but also take part in open water events in France and around the world!

Can I join without taking a course?

Non! We're a club for practising swimmers. However, you can set up your own NAGE LIBRE club and join Nage Libre France. You'll then be able to develop your own club in your town, department or region, according to precise criteria.

  • Online registration At the end of each presentation sheet, a form allows you to automatically calculate the price of your course. It's simple and there are no surprises.
  • Payment in 3 or 4 instalments Once you've made your choices, you can pay for your course in 3 or 4 instalments. It's automatic, so you can relax.
  • Club NAGE LIBRE® When you take part in your first course, you become a member of the Club NAGE LIBRE and benefit from special rates at www.nagelibre.fr.
